Freshman Lexi Kerstein (Deerfield, IL) was the team’s leading scorer at 16 points per game and was named all-conference and all-area special mention after leading the girls basketball team to a 21 win season after the team won a combined six games the previous two seasons. Lexi’s family is steeped in sports. Her mother, Tasia Georganas Kerstein, was an all-state player at Maine West, IL and enjoyed a prolific career at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Her father, Billy Kerstein (half Greek), was the #3 ranked running back in the nation out of high school and committed to the University of Miami then later an injury cut short his career. He was also a standout basketball player in the various Greek tournaments. Son Kenny Kerstein is a red shirt freshman wrestler at the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urban.
